Tanner Hall is the Russell Simmons of skiing. Simmons was the "Run" in Run DMC, who laid the road map for the "hip-hop CEO", expanding into ventures beyond his primary sport of rapping. Tanner Hall has taken the Russell Simmons model to the mountains.
First and foremost, Tanner Hall is the most decorated contemporary freeskier. He owns a record seven Winter X-Games gold medals. Athletic skills through the roof are complimented by a champion's mental make-up, as Hall consistently skis his best when the pressure is at its zenith.
In 2002, Hall co-founded Armada Skis, a ski company that has had a huge hand in skiing's resurgence among youth choosing between a side stance or grabbing a pair of poles. The first rider-owned and manufactured ski company, Armada's products are now sold in over 35 countries.
Expanding the total career portfolio, Hall along with Seth Morrison own the snowcat ski hill Retallack, outside of Nelson, British Columbia.
Progression in and out of ski boots has been a constant for the Montana native. Outside of the terrain park and on the big mountains of the back country, Hall's reputation has skyrocketed over the years. His most recent film, The Massive, serves notice that the man with the best terrain park skills is challenging the throne of best back-country skier. Everything is possible, indeed.
