24 Hours of Schweitzer  is a fundraising challenge event in hopes to find a cure for Hank Sturgis and all people living with Cystinosis.

I personally have several friends that are passionate about this event and have participated since it’s inception 6 years ago. The participants, sponsors and support crews are what make this event so special. It was my first time to witness and experience this challenge and I personally moved by the true compassion each and everyone involved have for this event. To see so many people Sacrifice for a worthy cause was inspirational.

This event had 111 participants, dozens of support crew and they raised $120,000 this year. Since it’s beginning 6 years ago 24 Hours for Hank has raised over $725,000 in total.

This video is a short compilation of the 24 Hour Challenge.

About Cystinosis:

Cystinosis is considered an “orphan disease”. All research funds are generated by the private sector. 24 hours for Hank is proud to be in partnership with the Cystinosis Research Foundation. Thanks to their hard work funds have already been raised through private individuals and businesses to start research for better medication and hopefully a cure. Thanks to the CRF, just this year a slow release formula of the powerful drug that helps our children was developed, changing the daily dosage to only twice a day. Hopefully it will be approved by the FDA by 2010 so Henry can start using it. 24 hours for Hank with your help, will support the CRF to fund the researchers and doctors that hold Henry’s future.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
24 Hours for Hank is a non-profit, tax-exempt entity pursuant to Section 501(c)(3). Federal Tax ID #26-2856413. All net proceeds of the funds raised will go directly to The Cystinosis Research Foundation to support medical research. Your gift is tax deductible.
