How did you get into the sport of aerials?
When I was young watching my older sister Shannon compete their was always an aerial sight next to the mogul course. I thought they were crazy and would watch them all day. It was pretty much love at first sight.
How fast do you go into the jumps and how much air do you catch?
We go into the jumps for triple flips at around 66 kph. Their is a speed trap before the jump so we do a couple speed checks before actually hitting the jump.
What is your craziest moment on skis?
Moscow World Cup when their wasn't enough in run and I had to use poles and skate the entire time.
Who has helped you most and inspired you since you've been on the U.S. Aerial Team?
All of the older guys because they looked so good in the air and that would always push us younger guys to be like them.
What tricks are you looking forward to working on this summer?
I am going to be working on another quad twisting triple flip(Double full,Full,Full). I hope to get it good enough for snow.
Since you are one of the young guns, what do you think it is going to take to starting landing on the podium?
A lot of experience!! This was my 3rd year doing triples and it really helps with getting over the fear and also helps for landing. My new tricks if performed well could definitely land me on the podium.
How do you unwind after a day on the slopes?
A nice warm shower a lot of the time is great for warming up the bones. But I don't have an after ski tradition.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I'm not sure yet. I want to finish College some day but I'm not sure when that will happen.
What do you think about a girls only show on The Ski Channel?
I think a girls show on The Ski Channel is an awesome idea. There are some pretty sick girls out there throwing down but we need way more of them. There is a pretty big gap right now between what the men can do and where the women are at and hopefully this will help get more girls involved and we'll be able to catch them!!
