Manifesto

Skiing is my religion. Skiing is all inclusive. There is no one way. Snowboarders, snowskaters, telemarkers, and even the persecuted monoskiers, all are welcome. Your interpretation of snow and how best to interpret it is free from orthodoxy. Moguls, double blacks, halfpipes, groomers, rails: adapt your interpretation of snow to your own earthly desires.

It's only creed: One nation under snow.

Our nation is strong. Skier pilgrimages to the Rockies average 20 million skiers a year. New England, 14 million. Whistler Blackcomb can service 65,507 snow worshippers per hour!

The Nation of Skiing conducts regular worship services at thousands of ski areas across the globe. Four-hundred eighty-one alone in the U.S. Over 500 in Japan! One in Dubai. With one of the largest concentration of ski resorts, Lake Tahoe is a very holy place.

Ski areas function as our place of spiritual release. As such, when ski areas are lost to the past tense, condolences are due -- especially to those who worshipped there regularly and are left with no other nearby alternatives. Skiing makes people happy. Skiers are happier. More happiness is good for the world.

I grew up in Big Bear and was a junior racer until discovering I liked chasing girls more than chasing gates. My claim to fame: I was the FIRST snowboarder in Big Bear. Anyone else claimin' is lying. Check the history books. Although, I haven't snowboarded since the fat skis came out. All hail fat skis!
