Colorado Snow!

While Monday brought the familiar sounds of the alarm clock and a forced rise to get to work, mother nature was doing her own kind of work in Colorado.

Snow started falling on Monday, leaving varying amounts of snow statewide.  Silverton pocketed 18 inches of new show, Telluride 14, and Wolf Creek 12.

Snow is white and cash is green, but Melanie Mills, President and CEO of Colorado Ski Country USA, is happily colorblind to the difference. "This is an important time in the ski business and snowfall functions as a little economic stimulus from mother nature."

The generous snowfall has lead to a number of resorts swinging open their gates. Powderhorn, Sunlight Mountain Resort, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk are all scheduled to open by this weekend.
