Perhaps your turkey day food-coma caused you to miss the news: the ski season has started at Taos Ski Valley. Great news for the New Mexico resort, which did not open up until mid-December last year. "It’s fantastic," Chris Stagg, with Taos Ski Valley, said. "We’re way ahead of last year, which was a great season." Most certainly this could be Snow Karma resulting from Taos decision to buy three million kilowatt hours of wind power, ending a reliance on traditional coal-produced electricity. An important green initiative, as Taos Ski Valley is the biggest energy consumer in the region.
