If the price fits, wear it.  Snow sports sales from August to October were up 9%, with sales of $507 million!  "Snow sports shoppers went out looking for bargains and they were willing to buy when they found them," according to Kelly Davis, Director of Research for the SnowSports Industries America (SIA).  Pre-season clearance sales and Junior ski sales were the main drivers of good times for ski gear retailers.  Internet sales of snow gear grew at an incredible 27% in dollars and 36% in units compared to the same time frame last year.  Still it was specialty shops that brought in most of the the snow sports dollars, with $297 million compared to $131 million sold online.  Either way, as these numbers show, deals are out there, online and at local retail shops.
