Holiday Season Ski Visits Were Up!

All across the board, skier visits during the holidays were up compared with the previous year.  Up 4 percent at the Berkshires in Massachusetts.  Up 7 percent at Vermont’s Okemo.  Record setting holiday days were also reported by three major Colorado resorts.  Other big winners in all this good news were the local, smaller resorts.  Skier visits were up a whopping 40 percent for resorts outside of Los Angeles.  Similar reportings came from locally accessed resorts in North Carolina.

The holiday results are vitally important to the health of the industry, as a quarter of ski resorts’ revenues come from the period between Thanksgiving and New Years.
