Claim: Perhaps not the Greatest, but Great

Endless powder, incredible airs, death-defying descents, all accompanied by their musical equivalent (loud and generally fast) are the template for the annual ski film. The formula continues to work when done right, as evidenced by the latest stupendous release by Matchstick productions, Claim. Highlights abound, but of special note are Kaj Zackrisson’s recovery from certain death and Simon Dumont’s setting the quarter pipe world record. Throw in some humor from the return of Shane McConkey’s Saucer Boy and Colby West doing his best karaoke, and it’s readily apparent why Matchstick is the current ski-film, king of the mountain. Currently the film is playing to sold-out audiences on tour. If it’s passed you by already, you can pocket the DVD right now. Highly recommended.
