March Gladness: Late Season Storms Pound Tahoe

Preemptively overshadowing the coming madness in college basketball, mountain enthusiasts are feeling overwhelming gladness for early March snowstorms that have deposited fresh tracks for California ski resorts.  Northstar at Tahoe has racked up an incredible four feet of new snow in the past 72 hours.  Heavenly, where Mr. Glen Plake honed his mogul skills, checked in with three feet of new snow.  Squaw Valley received 30 inches of new snow, and no doubt, Shane McConkey is making some hero turns on his favorite chair, KT-22.

The leader of the snow pack all year has been Mammoth Mountain, and as Mammoth does, the mountain has again snagged more than its fair share, piling another 18 inches on top of its mammoth size 15 foot base.

March storms, a blessing for any ski season.  Our mountain cult is filled with gladness.
