Bode Miller Sitting Second in World Championship Combined

‘Team American’ Bode Miller (Franconia, NH) is in podium position as he sits in second after the downhill portion of the super combined World Championship. Miller is just .04 seconds behind Norwegian superstar Aksel Lund Svindal.

The race continues with a GS portion, and Miller, being a strong technical skier, should hold an advantage over the multitude of ‘speed’ skiers behind him. (To be fair, Svindal is also a technical star.)

U.S. Ski Team member and 2006 Olympic gold medalist (in the combined event) Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) skied the downhill part of the super combined, too, yet was unfortunately disqualified from the race. FIS officials conducted a random equipment check and found Ligety’s binding to be .15 mm too high off the ski.
