Natasha Richardson, wife of actor Liam Neeson, was injured on the slopes at the Station Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec, Canada.  Initial reports were she took a normal fall while skiing on a beginner run with an instructor and was not wearing a helmet.  Immediatly after the fall she appeared fine, but her condition is said to have deteriorated in the hour following.  Richardson was taken to a Montreal Hospital and is now said to be back in the US for treatment for brain swelling.  Head injuries while skiing are extremely rare and while certainly not mandatory, it’s never a bad idea to wear a helmet and assure many more great days on the mountain!
