Spring Has Sprung in Utah!

Finally, bikini days are here! Lose your heavy winter sweater! No shoes, no shirt, no problem! It’s balmy, the grass is greening and it’s time to get out the hammock.

Yeah, and it’s also April Fools! And it’s still dumping in Utah, home of the greatest snow on Earth.

There’s no fooling there—the state’s slogan must be true. In just one week, ski resorts along the Wasatch Front, like Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude have received over 72 inches of snow, and the mountains are due for another 24 inches overnight!

That’s nearly one hundred inches of fluffy stuff, which is more than some ski areas are blessed with all year!

Apparently, the snow was so deep today at Snowbird, that in photos all that could be seen was a hand, or pole. "It was up to my waist, and consistent the whole way down," said Adam Marks, a happy patron. "You couldn’t see anything, but it didn’t matter. I just closed my eyes and enjoyed!"

The weather is set to clear later this afternoon, so skiers should be able to see all of the powder they’re enjoying. And we at the Ski Channel will update you on that rising snow count, inch by inch.
