Salt Lake City-based big mountain skier and photographer Adam Barker is a big fan of Shane McConkey’s. Like so many mountain enthusiasts who’ve been touched around the world by McConkey’s bravery, humility and example, Barker has always been a fan.

To honor the free skier’s life, Barker is selling fine art ski posters he shot in Utah, and donating the proceeds to the ski hero’s family. Barker hopes that the funds will go towards a college savings account for McConkey’s three year-old daughter Ayla.

In his blog, Barker writes: Shane McConkey has always been one of my skiing heroes. He seemed larger than life, yet seemed approachable, personable and modest in a “guy next door” sort of way. Sadly, I never had opportunity to meet or ski with Shane in life. Perhaps this can be my way/our way of honoring him in death.

For more information, and to purchase a poster, visit Barker’s Web site, here.
