Lindsey Vonn & Tanner Hall Nominated for Laureus Awards

The Laureus award is a prestigious one, handed out by the Laureus World Sports Academy.  The Academy of 837 sports journalists from 112 countries make this award a truly global one.  During the months of May and June, the winners will receive their awards individually at a series of presentations. 

There are a total of seven categories.  Lindsey Vonn, after her historic back-to-back World Cup overall titles, has been nominated for the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year.  Other nominees include Venus Williams and Ethiopian track star Tirunesh Dibaba.

In the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year, Tanner Hall earned a nomination after becoming the most successful Winter X Games athlete ever with seven gold medals.  Shaun White and Kelly Slater, two giants of their respected sports, are also nominated in the category.
