Stratton Mountain School (SMS) is the largest producer of ski and snowboard talent in the United States.  More than 29 Olympians and 72 national team members have been groomed by the SMS programs.  If your aspirations are Olympic in nature, find your way to the Stratton Mountain School in Vermont.

This past weekend, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association bestowed its Club of the Year award, a gold level award, on Stratton Mountain School.  The award is given to programs that demonstrate the best foundation for athletes to find success.

“Winning such a prestigious award gives us great pride as a school, and we are honored to earn such recognition,” said SMS Headmaster Christopher Kaltsas. “Our unmatched combination of coaches, staff and community made this award possible.”

SMS also received three other awards: the Snowboarding Club of the Year award, Snowboarding Program Director Mike Mallon earned the Westhaven Award, and Nordic Program Director Sverre Caldwell was named the Cross Country Domestic Coach of the Year Award.

All four USSA awards will be presented to SMS on Friday, May 15 during the USSA Congress 2009 Chairman Awards Dinner.
