New Zealand’s Mt Hutt Getting Dumped On

Turn back the calendar 10 days and Mt. Hutt would have 67 inches less snow.  One of new Zealand’s premiere spots is primed for next month’s season opening with more than six feet of new snow falling on the mountain over the last week-and-a-half.

“I’ve been working at Mt Hutt for eight years and I’ve never witnessed falls like this so early in the season,” said Dave Wilson, Ski Area Manager for Mt. Hutt. “Methven is buzzing and it’s great news for local business. There’s nothing like getting great early snow to get the phones ringing hot with enquiries.”

Summer means winter in the Kiwi language.  No reason that your number one priority of laying down tracks has to be suspended until December.  Summer ski spots south of the equator are waiting for you to satisfy your ski addiction.
