Golf for Good: Help Support U.S. Freestyle Ski Team Athletes

Posted By: The Ski Channel on May 15, 2009 6:18 pm

Five men from the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team are hosting the first annual Today’s Hope is Tomorrow’s Destiny team golf challenge on May 23, 2009 at the Park City Golf Course in Park City, UT. Entry fees are $150 per person, and participants must register by May 18.

OK, here’s the deal: This ain’t your ordinary golf tournament. For starters, your entry fees will directly benefit these stellar athletes:  Nate Roberts, the 2005 World Champion, two-time Olympian Jeret ‘Speedy’ Peterson, 2007 National Champ Holt Haga, World Cup podium star Dave DiGravio, and three-time National Champ Sho Kashimo.

All of these men are gunning for the 2010 Olympics, and all are capable of bringing home the hardware.

Other cool perks of hitting the greens at this event: Free breakfast, lunch, raffles, awards and silent auctions. You’ll also get to meet the athletes you’re so generously supporting!

With the current recession, the U.S. Ski Team has had to scale back on funding for athletes, and is only financially supporting a highly select few. As a result, the majority of the athletes are forced to pay for their own global travel, training and competition expenses. There’s never been a better time to help out.
