Karine Ruby, winner of the first ever olympic snowboard event at the 1998 Nagano games and silver medalist at the 2002 Salt Lake City olympics was killed in a tragic accident climbing the famed Mont Blanc near her home outside Chamonix, France.  Initial reports indicate that while roped to others for safety, the lead climber fell into a crevace pulling in Karine and one other climber.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Karine’s family, friends and fans.
