After a two-year foray with Bode Miller, Forest Carey, a former U.S. Ski Team member (from ‘93 to ’97) and assistant World Cup technical coach (’07) is back with USSA as the new men’s Europa Cup Head Coach.

The U.S. Ski Team and their coaching staff are thrilled by Carey’s addition. “Forest has a tremendous background, thanks to his years of racing and he brings that unique athlete perspective with him as a U.S. Ski Team coach,” says men’s Head Coach Sasha Rearick.

Carey is also excited about his new position. “I look forward to working with a team of younger athletes,” says Carey. “Ultimately our goal is for all of our athletes to have success on the World Cup. My goal is to help them successfully make that jump.”

According to Rearick, Carey’s experience with Miller allowed him to see first hand what it takes to be successful on the World Cup tour. “We’re fortunate to have him bring this experience to our Europa Cup Team as they work on making the jump to World Cup competition,” Rearick says.
