World Champion Lindsey Van Leads Ski Jumping Camp for Girls

The lady is pretty fly. First Lindsey Van made history this past ski season, winning the first ever World Championship gold medal for women’s ski jumping. Then she fought (and continues to fight) for her sport to be part of the 2010 Olympic Games. Now she’s helping 40 young girls reach their dreams. (Talk about having no downtime…)

Lindsey Van is coaching a nordic jumping camp this week in Black Earth, WI, which is about 20 miles outside of Madison. Campers will fly off ramps and land on a man-made hill covered with plastic—which is not for the weary of faint of heart. Of course, the camp is ladies only, and Van is happy to help grow her sport.

“I am excited to teach more young girls to ski jump,” Van says. “It’s awesome to keep them in the sport I love.”

Spoken like  true chamion.
