It’s the 96th incarnation of the Tour de France. Seven-time winner Lance Armstrong returns after a four-year hiatus. The 21-day race winds through France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, and Andorra. The stages include beautiful Mediterranean coastal towns, valleys of endless greenery, and body-killing steep ascents up into charming European ski towns.
And since our addiction is skiing, we’ll pay close attention to the ski areas the tour passes by and through. Just seeing unique spots gets me fired up, imagining the turns that could be made.
Of course, all of us snow addicts compile a list of dream spots we must hit before our ski days are over, whether or not we’ll ever actually ski them. So as we watch the Tour de France unfold, let’s take a look at the ski resorts our favorite blood-doping two-wheelers will be riding by.
