Is there a more quaint place on the planet?  Bridal Veil Falls, the Colorado Avenue Main Street.  Glenn Frey sung about the former mining town in Smugglers Blues and numerous others have as well.

When Tom Cruise jumped up and down on a particular talk shows’ couch spraying his love verbiage – it was none other than Telluride neighbor Oprah Winfrey.  RIght down the street there is JFK conspiracy theorist and mega movie maker Oliver Stone.  No word on whether the trio are skiing blacks or blues or whether Kate shows up or not, because the last Mrs. Tom Cruise lived in the house.

Others who have called Telluride “second home” include Stormin Norman Schwarzkopf, Richard Holbrooke, Jerry Seinfeld, Bob Dylan, Daryl Hannah and Ben Clark.  John Denver lived there as well.

But the coolest, most bestest ever, not even joking, like talk to the hand celeb relationship by far and away though is from 1889.  A young wannabee, could barely get arrested bank robber decided to hit the San Miguel Valley Bank in Telluride.  That neuby ended up being none other than Butch Cassidy.  It was his first big crime!  He walked with $24,580 in cold hard cash in 1889.  Translated into today’s dollars that is $57,830,048,084,453,493.98!
