Bode Miller joins Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Tony Romo, Chuck Liddell at Tahoe Celebrity Golf Tournament

The Tahoe Celebrity Golf Week and the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Lake Tahoe’s American Century Championship is scheduled for July 14-19, 2009 at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. Expected to participate this year are Bode Miller, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Tony Romo, Chuck Liddell, Dan Quayle, Jack Wagner, Wayne Gretzky and many others. See list below.

World Cup skier Bode Miller has played in this tournament since 2002 and finished in 54th place last year just ahead of Michael Jordan. What a great thing to be able to say that you beat Michael Jordan at something. Let’s see if Bode can duplicate that feat again.

Last year’s champion Rick Rhoden is back to defend his title. Other early favorites include Dan Quinn, Tony Romo, Grant Fuhr, and Jack Wagner. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is an accomplished golfer who has played in US Open qualifiers the past couple of years. Will Jessica Simpson be at hand?

Perhaps the most entertaining to watch will be the play of Charles Barkley who has the most unconventional swing of the bunch. It’s pure comedy. And you know fellow NBA star Michael Jordan will be super competitive.

But it’s certain no one will want to argue and get into a fight with first year participant mixed martial arts fighter Chuck Liddell.

The Ski Channel will cover this event as it unfolds. We’re pulling for Bode Miller to do well. Stay tuned.
