Lindsey Has Already Won Her Major This Year…Tiger Begins His Quest Today at Turnberry

As we previously wrote during golf’s US Open Championship, it’s been a great year for some of history’s greatest athletes.  Kobe Bryant won his 4th championship, and Lindsey Vonn, the darling of downhill skiing, became the first American woman to win back to back overall World Cup championships.  Since that article, Roger Federer has surpassed Pete Sampras’ record of 14 Grand Slam championships, winning Wimbledon two weeks ago in an epic battle against Andy Roddick.

Now it’s Tiger’s turn to keep building towards passing Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championships.  At the young age of 33, Tiger already has captured 14 majors, although he has not won one in the last 13 months.  This is the first time Tiger hasn’t held a major title since 2004, and he’s favored to end this streak at Turnberry Golf Course in Scotland this weekend.

He tees off in the next few minutes…we will keep a watch on his progress throughout the Open Championship and his quest for the record books.
