The Pope Breaks Right Wrist in Fall While (not) Snowboarding

Pope Benedict XVI, hanging out on vacation in northern Italy, at his alpine ski chalet joined legions of snowboarders in breaking his right wrist.  Wrist injuries are the most common snowboarding injury.  Currently, I have big steel bolt in my right wrist from a snowboarding mishap.

Pope Benedict injured his wrist in a fall Friday morning.  It was a simple slip and fall.  Not a fall from a jib or rail, or a fall from a quarter pipe.  A whopping 25% of all snowboard injuries occur to the wrist joint.  Over 70% of these injuries are fractures.  Accumulate all days snowboarding by all snowboarders, and a wrist fracture occurs once every 1135 days.
