As  per usually it has been a big training time period at Mt. Hood this week as everyone is training for the Olympics.  Some racers including Ted Ligety stayed home however to be closer to Cody Marshall.

Marshall who is one of the most liked and popular skiers was injured this past week when he feel off an escalator in Utah.  Marshall is serious condition with a head injury after trying to slide down the handrail of an escalator, but fell off approximately 20 feet.

Marshall trained at the prestigious Burke Mountain Academy and has been on the US Ski Team for 3 years.  Last year Cody had a particularly good year placing 3rd in the Slalom at the 2009 US Alpine Championships.  He also took 3 Europa Cup Podiums and a 2nd place in the Slalom at Monte Pora, Italy.

Our thoughts at The Ski Channel are with Cody and his family.
