When you think of the Best Male Action Sports Athlete ESPY award, only one person should come to mind, especially since he has won the award five times!! He may have a bit of an advantage since he’s a snowboarder and skateboarder, but we’re thinking Shaun White would probably still be the winner, even if he only did one of the two sports.  He’s won a whopping 17 Winter and X Games medals, and a gold medal at the 2006 Olympics.  And, he’s the first athlete to win gold in both the summer and winter X Games.  To see Shaun in action, check out First Descent on The Ski Channel, which is the story of how snowboarding rose to prominence.  Congrats on your ESPY, Shaun!

There were also a few female action sports ladies who were nominated–Torah Bright and Sarah Burke, who was also nominated for Best Female Athlete, but unfortunately lost to gymnast Nastia Liukin.  Congratulations to both of you on your nominations, ladies!
