Katie Holmes and Daughter Suri Cruise Skiing While on Location in Melbourne?

We know she’s busy in Melbourne filming her new horror flick, “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” but we here at The Ski Channel want to remind Tom Cruise’s wife, Katie Holmes, and oh-so-cute daughter, Suri, that there’s a bunch of great skiing within a few hours of this southern city in the province of Victoria.  The most popular resort is Mt. Buller, which is a three-hour drive from Melbourne.  The mountain has three terrain parks designed for all skill levels, in addition to a half pipe and an ultra cross course. The Village offers ski in-ski out accommodations, and also a wide array of bar and restaurants.  Finally, Mt. Buller boasts Breathtaker on High Alpine Spa Retreat, which Mrs. Cruise would definitely enjoy after a long day of shooting.

Mt. Buller isn’t the only ski destination the Cruise Family should consider.  Falls Creek is also a 3 hour drive from Melbourne, and has some of the country’s best cross-country skiing; Lake Mountain is on of the closest resorts to Melbourne and is also a premier destination for cross-country skiers; and, finally, there is Mt Hotham, five and a half hours away from the capital, it is Victoria’s highest ski resort, and it offers Alpine skiing, snow boarding, dining, and accommodation.

Hopefully the mother-daughter combo will have time to try one of these great resorts while they’re Down Under!
