Superstars Kristi Leskinen Maksim Chmerkovskiy Bode Miller Paige Hemmis advance to finals sans Terrell Owens

Skiing athletes Kristi Leskinen and Bode Miller are dominating the Superstars competition along with their respective partners Maksim Chmerkovskiy of Dancing With the Stars and Paige Hemmis of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as they advance to the finals. The team of Lisa Leslie and David Charvet round out the final three teams as they upset the team of Brandi Chastain and Julio Iglesias Jr.

Even if early favorites Terrell Owens and Joanna Krupa had stuck around longer they probably would have been eliminated in this episode anyway. Too bad TO had to cut out to work on his VH1 reality show and train with the Buffalo Bills. It would have been good to watch Terrell competing in other events.

Here’s how it went down this week.

In the watercraft event, Bode and Paige beat Kristi and Maks for their first event win on the Superstars and finally showing more of their competitive side than their strategic one. This one was fun to watch but the course seemed short.

The archery competition was probably the most nerve wrenching event as skill, strategy, and a steady hand were crucial to winning. Bode and Paige tied with Kristi and Maks for first place. Brandi and Julio placed second while Lisa and David finished in third.

A third event was added this week, the wall climb. Kristi and Maks beat Brandi and Julio for first place despite Maks’ fear of heights.

This set up the archery rubber match between Bode & Paige and Brandi & Julio. The loser goes to the obstacle course elimination event. Bode Miller hit the target first thus avoiding the elimination event.

On to the obstacle course where best 2 of 3 wins. The matchup was between Lisa & David and Brandi & Julio where Lisa & David got the upset victory.

The final 3 teams of Kristi & Maks, Bode & Paige, Lisa & David move on to the final round next week where the Superstars 2009 champions will be crowned.

Our predicted winners from the beginning, Kristi Leskinen and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are on track and outperforming so far having won more events than any other team. But don’t count out Bode & Paige as they have been coming on strong lately. And never doubt the heart of a champion in WNBA star Lisa Leslie and David Charvet. It should be a fun finals to watch.

And we’re still rooting for Kristi to get on Dancing with the Stars with Maks.

The Superstars airs on ABC on Tuesday at 8pm ET.
