Prince William Summer Hike up Helvellyn

The concept of Royalty may on the surface appear completely pointless, but it does afford a platform for important charity work.  Prince William shepherded a group of homeless teenagers up Helvellyn, a mountain in northeast England.  Helvellyn is home to the Lake District Ski Club, which runs one surface lift on the mountain during weekends in the winter on a part of the mountain dubbed “Raise”.

No snow on Friday and this was no ski trip with Prince William and the homeless teens.  It was a hike up to the mountain-top with the six teens to help raise awareness for Centrepoint, a charity for homeless young people, and Mountain Rescue, a volunteer-run charity.
