French Ski Operator Compagnie Des Alpes sets 3rd Quarter Earnings Record

Compagnie Des Alpes the world’s largest ski resort owner reported incredible good news with lift ticket sales up 38% for the quarter pushing the combined 08/09 numbers into record territory for revenue and skier visits. 

Skier visits ended up 2.3% for the year and Revenue ended up 3% for the year.  The company said, “This steady activity in ski areas despite the general economic climate illustrates the resillience of our business line, which has experienced uninterrupted organic growth for more than ten years.”

Additionally, the company acknowledged that it will be selling its approximate 20% state in Televerbier  (Verbier) through its wholly owned subsidiary SwissAlp SA to the municipality of Bagnes for about 13.8 million Euros.  It will use the money to pay down debt.
