In more great infrastructure spending news, Solitute Mountain is going to add a new fixed grip quad called the Powderhorn II that will replace the original Powderhorn double chair dating back to 1977.  The new lift will cost about $1.5 million and will start at mid-mountain as opposed to the base of the hill.  In a move to separate skiers more by ability level, the new loading point keeps beginners from hopping on at the bottom and then ending up in tougher terrain.

Last year Solitude added two high speed quads, the Apex and the Moonbeam Express at a cost of over $7 million dollars.  Solitude is located in Big Cottonwood Canyon and has over 1200 acres of skiable terrain.
