Shaun White Skips 2009 X-Games in Preparation for Olympics

The 2009 Summer X-Games have concluded today in Los Angeles, and Shaun White didn’t place. That’s because the snowboarding icon decided to skip the games this year in order to focus on training for the upcoming Winter Olympics. White won the gold metal in the snowboarding half pipe during the 2006 winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.

White spent time recently in Mount Hood, Oregon for some summer glacier snowboard training, honing his skills so he can compete in top form from the get go this coming winter. The 2010 Winter Olympics are fast approaching, and Shaun is wasting no time.
