Actor Liam Neeson made his first red carpet appearance last night since his wife, Natasha Richardson, had died tragically this past March from a head injury she suffered while skiing at Mont Tremblant Ski Resort near Montreal in Canada. Neeson was promoting his new film ‘Five Minutes of Heaven’, which opens nationwide on August 21.

If you may or may not remember, Richardson’s death prompted an outpouring of public interest and concern. The Tony award winning actress was flown to a Manhattan hospital where she died days later after a fall during a beginner’s skiing lesson. Afterwards, doctors concluded that she died from bleeding in her skull.

The somber, yet veteran actor, who was obviously still feeling the affects of losing his wife, still managed to smile while being interviewed by reporters. One reporter asked him what his version of heaven would be like. The 57-year-old actor and father of two boys with Richardson said he’s “kind of living it at the moment.”

Neeson’s first public appearance since his wife’s death marks an important step in the mourning process and let’s all hope it continues to get a little easier as the days go on.
