Lance Armstrong defeated 6 time champ Dave Wiens today while setting a new record for the Leadville 100 mountain bike race. The race is the nations highest altitude mountain bike event, which features lung searing climbs and inclines that take the racers to 14,000 ft summits. Lance finished the 100 mile race in 6 hours, 28 minutes, and 50 seconds, on a flat tire! That mark bests last years record set by Dave Wiens at 6:45:45, who beat Lance by a mere two minutes in last years event. The race remains open to finish for twelve hours from this mornings start at 6:30 am. Congrats Lance!
