Olympic gold medalist Shaun White landed a double double corked run to win the Burton New Zealand open.
U.S. snowboard half-pipe star Kelly Clark joined him on top of the podium, completing a run full of 540’s and 720’s.

“I felt really good today. I got to try new things,” Clark said about her first winning run of the season. “I like progressing, and when you ride against a solid group of competitors it pushes you to do more. I’m happy that I did well for my first contest of the summer, especially going in to an Olympic year.”

Right behind White was U.S. rider and Mammoth Mountain local Luke Mitrani who took the silver. His double Michalchuck stole the show.

The U.S. snowboarders are now looking toward Dec. 11-12, where the first of five Olympic qualification competitions kicks off with the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, in Copper, CO.
