U.S. Team Snowboard Rider Louie Vito on this Season’s Dancing With the Stars

Professional snowboarder Louie Vito will join a cast of 16 celebs and athletes on this season’s Dancing With the Stars on ABC. The Salt Lake City resident has his work cut out for him: Forget that the Olympics are coming up in Vancouver. Vito has never before watched Dancing With the Stars, nor has he danced. Ever.

Vito joins a star-studded cast full of models, actors and athletes. Fellow Olympian Natalie Coughlin could be tough to beat, along with UFC fighter, Chuck Liddell, who’s surely light on his feet. Fellow Utahn Donny Osmond will be taking the floor as well, along with singers Macy Gray and Mya. Supermodel Joanna Krupa ditches her Superstars partner Terrell Owens for someone hotter, and NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin is going to try to follow in the footsteps of former Dallas Cowboys teammate, Emmitt Smith, who is a DWTS crystal globe winner.

Vito’s toughest opponent may be a huge surprise: Tom DeLay, the former House Majority Leader, also known around the government as “The Hammer.” After being indicted on conspiracy charges, clearly DeLay is on to bigger and better aspirations!

The show starts airing this season on September 21, and get your phones charged. Vito might not need any assistance when he snowboards a superpipe, but on the dance floor? On his Web site, Vito asks fans to vote as much as possible, because he “…needs all the help he can get.”
