It’s official, Lindsey Vonn the worlds greatest female alpine skier and Vail Resorts, owner of some of the greatest ski resorts in the world including Vail have gotten hitched in a long term deal that has Vonn moving back to Vail after living for some time in Park City.  Vonn grew up in Minnesota, but after commuting back and forth to Vail for training, the family eventually moved there when Lindsey’s career started gaining traction.

Vail has always been my favorite ski resort,” said the rock star skier.  “It’s where I grew up and learned to race.  My husband Thomas and I are truly thrilled to be coming back to Vail and making it our home.”

“It would be hard to imagine any individual who better personifies the ideals of Vail Resorts, than Lindsey Vonn,” said Rob Katz, CEO and chairman of the board for Vail Resorts. “Lindsey is truly a hometown girl made good and we could not be prouder to continue to be by her side on her epic quest to achieve five gold medals in Vancouver.”

Vonn has recently been in New Zealand training and will make her first public appearance for Vail Resorts at a community pep rally in her honor on Friday, August 21st at Lionshead from 4:30PM to 8:00PM.  If you can get there, go support this potential 2010 gold medalist!
