Meet the newest soon-to-be-members of the United States Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. Nelson Carmichael, Liz McIntyre, Cary Adgate and Bill Briggs will be inducted during a week long celebration beginning September 11 and ending the 19th. Nelson was the first American to win an Olympic medal in freestyle skiing, and Liz medaled too, although her fame came in the form of coaching. Many of her students went on to become World and Olympic champions. In 2005, Cary Adgate was named Master Skier of the Year. And finally, good ol’ Bill Briggs. Bill was the first recorded person to ski down Grand Teton (10,770 feet baby–pictured left). We congratulate the inductees on their accomplishments and hope they enjoy the ceremonies!
