Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy is dead at the age of 77.  One of the longest-serving senators in U.S. history.  Younger brother to John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy.  Life long advocate for health care reform.

Teddy was part of our tribe.  He was a regular on the mountains of Sugarbush and Stowe in Vermont and in Aspen, Colorado.  Skiing was a big part of the Kennedy family.

Ted Jr., Ted Kennedy’s son, lost his right leg to cancer at the age of 12.  In 1974 Ted Jr. learned to ski despite his handicap.  He later would compete in adaptive skiing.  Another Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Ted Kennedy’s nephew, was killed in a tragic skiing accident in Aspen.

The photo is of Ted Kennedy and family in 1975 at Butternut Basin in Massachusetts.  Ted Jr is second from the right.
