Outdoor Brands Mountain Hardwear and Montrail Raise Over $11,500 for Non-Profits

After recently tallying donations received from various events, Mountain Hardwear Inc. and Montrail helped raise over $11,500 in charitable funds at the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show in Salt Lake City, Utah. The money will help benefit three non-profit organizations: American Hiking Society, Leave No Trace and The Conservation Alliance.

Mountain Hardwear, a leading manufacturer of outdoor equipment and ski apparel, donated 200 rEVA Brief Cases, a Spring 2010 laptop case made of recycled scraps from the pack factory floor, to raise funds for Leave No Trace. Montrail a top producer of trail-inspired footwear did their share, too, and raised over $8,300 for outdoor non-profit organizations through these events:

*Miles 4 Trails – For every mile logged during OR using an official pedometer, Montrail donated $1 towards a Conservation Alliance project. 159 participants logged 1447.98 miles to secure wilderness designation for land in Southern Colorado through which passes the infamous Hardrock 100 trail race.

*Mountain Masochist Fundraiser– Montrail donated 200 pairs of the award-winning Mountain Masochist helping raise $5865 for The Conservation Alliance.

*14th annual Wasatch Wobble –Montrail sponsored a 5k fun run with a Rock n’ Roll theme showcasing the new Rockridge trail shoe. 160 registered runners helped raise $1045 for the American Hiking Society to support trail access and maintenance.
