After five months of recovering from a knee injury, Kathrin Zettel’s training begins today.  One can find the super-combined World Champion at the Moelltaler glacier in Flattach.

The 23-year-old Austrian is a force to be reckoned with and claimed her first world title in Val d’Isere, France this past February.  Zettel also has won six World Cup races.  She is back on skis today, focusing on her first race of the season in Soelden, Austria, on October 24.

Zettel will kick-off the World Cup circuit in her native country.  Surely, Austria will welcome and cheer Zettel on, radiating an energetic ambiance – a perfect start to the challenging runs ahead. Will we see Zettel in Vancouver at the Winter Olympics this year?  Time will tell.              Kathrin Zettel of Austria after winning the women’s Super Combined event at the Alpine                                                                                                                                                             Skiing World Championships 2009 in Val d’Isere February 6, 2009.
