Swiss Ski Resort Resident Roger Federer Could Take Number 16

Our favorite Swiss Skier and father of twin skier girls is looking about as good as anyone ever has to win the US Open.  With his nemisis Rafael Nadal plagued with injuries and terrible rain delays, Federer is looking like he has a great shot.

In this years US Open men’s, three of the top four seeds made it to the semi’s as did #6 Juan Martin Del Potro.  Del Potro is looking like he has the next best shot to win this thing as he has played fairly flawless tennis.  But Federer has played nothing short of genius tennis.  A straight set win over NCAA champ Devin Britton, then he beat Lleyton Hewitt in 4 sets.  He dropped only 9 games in the 3 round against Tommy Robredo.  In the 4th round Robin Soderling was firing BB’s for serves and forehands, but Fed Ex still found a way to put on a clinic running down BB after BB and putting them back for winners.

That leaves Djokovic in the semi’s, a guy he beat pretty handily a couple weeks ago in Cincy.  Our guess is it is a Federer / Del Potro final and you see a Federer win in 4 sets.

Federer has stated that he will be buying new boots, bindings, skis and poles if he wins.
