The ski resort community of South Lake Tahoe held a fundraiser today for Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was kidnapped in the town on the walk to her bus stop over 18 years ago.  Dugard, who was allegedly abducted by Phillip and Nancy Garrido, was subsequently raped, had two daughters with Phillip Garrido, and was held captive in a secret backyard compound.  She was released almost a month ago, and today, her hometown held a concert at the Horizon Casino’s Convention Center to contribute to her fund and celebrate her safe return.

Two South Lake Tahoe residents, Kathie Garcia and Fionn Lambert, hosted the event.  Garcia said she “wanted to raise funds to help Jaycee in her recovery process and [I] thought a concert would be an excellent way to bring people together.”  For those who were not able to attend the event, they can donate to Dugard’s fund at Bank of the West, 2161 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, CA, 96150.
