Deer Valley Resort is already gearing up for the 2011 FIS Freestyle World Championships. The resort recently released the official event logo to start generating enthusiasm. (That’s actually not hard to do.)

DV is also (again) set to host the Visa Freestyle International World Cup in 2010, which is one of the favorite competitions of judges, athletes and spectators alike. The event not only draws thousands of fans and the world’s best skiers, but Deer Valley plays an excellent host and provides fireworks and big-name concerts. For the athletes, it’s top-notch courses.

But back to the 2011 World’s. The event will mark the first time a North American venue will host a Freestyle World Championships twice. DV was also the freestyle venue at the 2002 Olympic Games. World Cup and Olympic freestyle judge Paul Nicholas commented about the pending  World Champ’s on Facebook: “DV has one of the best mogul sites and aerial sites in the world, along with some of the best organization ever in Freestyle skiing.”
