Lindsey Vonn and Bode Miller at 2008-2009 World CupAs skiing teams from all over the world prepare to travel to Vancouver to face off in the 2010 Winter Olympic games, the targets of many are set directly at Team USA.  According to Skipressworld, “America just became THE team to beat at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games this year.”  With yesterday’s announcement that skiing legend Bode Miller would be trying to qualify for the games, Team America now has a roster fat with superstars of the snow.

Adding Miller to the same lineup as Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, and Ted Ligety puts more than 8 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze medals around Team USA’s collective neck.  Early speculation is stating that Vonn might be “a real threat to make history at these Games by scoring podiums in every single discipline.”

Team USA’s Resi Stiegler and Scott Macartney are still yet to take home a medal from the world stage, but are both poised for their first victory.
