All routes to the north end of Yellowstone from Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole are closed as a fire near the northwest shore of Yellowstone Lake prompted officials to close the Grand Loop Road.

The lightening caused Arnica fire has pushed tons of smoke of Jackson Hole Ski Resort and surrounding communities as hundreds of acres are burning.  With heavy winds pushing the fire southwest, the blaze is expected to grow today.

There are numerous other fires burning in the region at this time as well.  At this time there is no indication that the Jackson Hole ski resort area will be in any significant danger.
