After 37 straight years the Alaska ski train will not be ferrying folks to the backcountry of Grandview.  No charter trains are scheduled this season from November through April.

Tickets had been printed up and were to go on sale October 1st, and the three to four trips per year were hugely popular among skiers around the world.

<a href="http://www.adn.com/outdoors/skiing/story/946952.html” target=”_blank”>”I don’t have any doubt that the Grandview ski train was the best one-day tour in the world,” said Kenny Powers, who has been riding the ski train since 1980. “Nothing can compare to it anywhere for total awesomeness.”
