Cody Townsend’s life route shall not be replicated.  The dude has a linguistics degree (!!) from his hometown school, UC Santa Cruz.  A Squaw Valley weekend warrior in his youth, Townsend now stars in both film (TGR, Warren Miller) and comps (he won the 2009 Big Mountain Pro).

He’s also following in the carbon-less footprints of Mr. Jeremy Jones.  Townsend recently posted this video of a non-snowmobile trip into the backcountry of the Sierras he made with big mountain snowboarder Jeremy Jones.  Townsend appropriately dubs the video “Flashing Hallways.”  It’s one of the most intriguing couloirs you’ll ever see.  Frightening narrow (6-10 feet) and steep (45-50 degree pitch), Townsend employs the famous McConkey turn, more slide than carve, to navigate this natural wonder.
